For those that qualified, please note the following regarding the 2023 Future Pro Tour Classic event:

The 2023 FPT Classic event will be held on Saturday, Feb 17th and 18th 2024, at New Melones Lake. This year’s field will see at total field of only 42 qualifying teams – a combination of central and northern qualifying teams, competing for this year’s Classic crown.

As this past year’s event participation averages were considerably smaller, this year’s Classic Championship event will be only a 2-day event, with a 1st place grand prize of $4,500 guaranteed to the winning team.

 

 

Classic - Event Details

 

The full-field will compete on both days.

 

Off-limits:

New Melones will be off-limits to Classic qualifiers on Feb 12, 13, and 14th.

 

Official Pre-fish:

New Melones will be open for pre-fishing from Feb 15 thru Feb 16th.

 

Check-in:

Check-in/registration will be held at the event trailer at the Glory Hole Parking Lot. At that time you can pay for your event registration, and will receive your blast-off number. 

Your AOY finishing position will determine your blast-off number for day one. Blast-off will be reversed on day 2.

 

Launch:

Launch will be out of Glory Hole Ramp

 

Blast-off Times for Saturday and Sunday:

6:45am

 

Weigh-in

Weigh-in: 3:00pm (both days) at Glory Hole Ramp (Parking lot)

 

Entry & Payout:

A $130 - per team entry will be required to participate, and entries collected, will be paid back at to 2- 5th place finishers as follows:

  • 2nd - $1,500
  • 3rd - $1,200
  • 4th - $1000
  • 5th - $500

The top 3 finishers will also receive trophy awards.

 

A $20 Big Fish Option will be available, with the overall biggest fish of the event receiving the following cash award:

  • 1st Big Fish $800

The overall Big Fish winner will receive a Big Fish Trophy award.

 

 

PLEASE NOTE:

The first-place grand prize of $4,500 will be paid out by FPT and is GUARANTEED - regardless of the size of the field!

The entry fee payout will be based on are based on 42 paid entries and will be adjusted up or down accordingly. A small portion of the entry fee (appx 20%) will be retained to help off-set staff expenses.

 

Youth Angler League – Classic Championship Event Information

  • All YAL qualifiers will compete on Saturday Feb 17th
  • Participation cost is $25 per angler, and will receive separate trophies, and cash prizes as follows:

 

5 – 11-year-old Division (Kids) – Classic Championship Event awards

  • 1st Place - $200 + custom 1st place award
  • 2nd Place - $100 + custom 2nd place award
  • 3rd Place - $50 + custom 3rd place award

 

12 – 18-year-old Division (Junior) – Classic Championship Event awards

  • 1st Place - $300 cash, + custom 1st place award
  • 2nd Place - $200 cash, + custom 2nd place award
  • 3rd Place - $150 cash + custom 3rd Place award
